ABOUT AFRICAN TALENT UNIVERSITY

Background

The African Talent University has been created to fulfill the dreams of many children, youth and adults that have struggled in many forms, situations and years to find an education system that brings accomplishment to them.

Many of them, who may or may have been forced into traditional education systems, either shipped themselves out or were shipped out by the rigid education systems and think that education is only for the bright or those academically endowed.

Rationale

Is formal education a necessity? Do you need to go to school if you want to build a successful business? Most people are brought up to believe that going to school, getting good grades, working really hard and getting a good job are the steps you need to take to become successful.

If you or your parents think that formal education works in Africa then you will be very disillusioned. Many degree holders are now back in villages doing the jobs that non educated people are doing. Many educated people are now employed by the less educated and you must wonder today if the paper you are holding is worth all the years of university education.

This university has been created to address these gaps and provide learning to degrees based on your unique
and individual talent.

Ethos/Philosophy

The dizzying speed of the modern world puts education at the heart of both personal and community development; its mission is to enable everyone, without exception, to develop all their talents to the full and to realize their creative potential, including responsibility for their own lives and achievement of their personal aims’.

Many people attend several leadership and other career forums and hope that inspirational talks can help them. We know that listening to another person’s stories over and over again does not make you that person. You need to know yourself as an individual person and begin to work towards accomplishing what is naturally you. And that is where Professional and Scientific Assessment of Talent becomes important in the learning process.

Of what use is it to listen to stories about a certain sickness from another person who suffered from it and make assumptions that you will heal based on his/her method of treatment? Well, you may, but what we know is that it always works when you go to hospital and confirm your own sickness through tests and get the right medication.
You will know your true value and forecast your future career, professionally and scientifically, and then learn based on this. You don’t need to attend all courses but only those that will enhance the focus of your learning based on your prescribed talent.

Leadership

The Leadership of the African Talent University is vested in the Executive Council of the African Talent Federation (www.giftedafrica.org). It is owned and managed by the Federation.

Accreditation

The African Talent University works with the array of Talent Clinics operated by African Talent Federation, in
Africa. The Clinics do have resources and experts that manage “Talent Genres” across age groups and “Talent Domains”. It is at these clinics that most Talent Based Learning occurs, in liaison with “Academic Clinics”.
